Studica has been in business for 36 years. We are focused on helping teachers and schools navigate all the STEM education, robotics, and technology solutions that benefit students and educators. Every month we offer a series of free education webinars for teachers. This September, to kick off the school year with some inspiration, we have a variety of topics including automation, English language learning, game design, coding, and Mechatronics, as well as certification courseware for Microsoft and Adobe.

At Studica, we love working with technology, educators, and manufacturers. Our knowledgeable staff can help you find innovative solutions that can meet your goals and your budgets. In addition, Studica offers procurement services and technical expertise. In fact, we work closely with Academic Consortiums including the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) and UTeachEngineering. If you need assistance, reach out – we are here to help!

We are also huge fans of mobile robotics and have created our own robotics platform. You can learn more about mobile robotics and the Studica Robotics Building System below.

Getting Students Interested in Mobile Robotics

Mobile RoboticsIntelligent mobile robots are playing an increasing role in our daily lives. They are used in a variety of different industries including aerospace, mining, manufacturing, agriculture, and medicine. Learn more about Mobile Robotics.

What skills will students need to participate in this increasingly important role?  A mobile robotics engineer needs to have a strong understanding of microprocessors, logic, and computer programming. They will need to be able to prepare specifications for a robot’s capabilities as they relate to specific tasks and environments. Major responsibilities include creating a cost-efficient design, cost-price calculations, and maintaining quality control.

To get students involved and engaged in mobile robotics, competitions are a great tool for building skills, confidence, and interest. One of the largest mobile robotics competitions in the world is offered by WorldSkills. WorldSkills offers global competitions for 61 different skills with the goal of showcasing the importance of skills for achieving economic growth and creating awareness and recognition of skilled people. The upcoming WorldSkills Mobile Robotics competition is scheduled to take place in October in France.

Studica Robotics is a proud Global Partner and the authorized supplier of the required robotics collection for this upcoming WorldSkills Mobile Robotics competition. Studica has a reputation for robotics expertise and our products are also used for FTC and WRO competitions. Our innovative building system offers a variety of robotics kits and a variety of motion and structural components. Use the Studica Robotics Building to create big and sturdy robots. The platform requires no machine shop and our hole pattern is compatible with a variety of existing build systems.
